Ever felt like you were the smartest in your household? Especially towards your parents? And have you ever wondered how you got to be so incredibly intelligent though your parents are incredibly stupid?
I ask myself those questions every day... I never get the answers, but I still ask them to try and figure out those answers anyway.
My day had a TON of eventful events. Lets begin with the beginning...
As I was entering onto the freeway, 5 minutes passed and I heard a loud BANG from in front of me. A semi-truck, that was taking an exit, had blown out a back tire. I was a good 30 feet away from the semi, in the adjacent right hand lane, yet seeing the tire exploding and hearing the startling sound, I was shook up! Some of the shrapnel hit Enrico. Nothing ginormous. But enough to get concerned. I put on my brakes so I wouldn't get near the semi. I was afraid it might tip over. Finally, the truck had taken the exit and I was free to move along.
That was the first time I've ever witnessed a blow-out.
In math, I realized how more awesome my teacher is. Because Summer is crazily annoying, whenever she brings up something (i.e. about her doing the problem in a different way; her way), our teacher becomes somewhat irritated. She usually holds it in, but you can tell, she sort of wants to tell off Summer - like the rest of us! Well... today... she had her moment... After Summer babbled on about her way of solving this one difficult problem, Summer looked down at her paper. As she scribbled a few notes, our teacher mimicked Summer's lecture. She didn't SPEAK words, she just lipped them and made faces. I had to hold back the laughter... However, Summer busted our teacher being a smartass! So, our teacher explained why she was mocking. Flat out, she told of Summer always stating things about her ways and what she had done. Everyone chuckled. Deep down, I rooted on for my teacher. She was basically showing everybody's exact feeling towards Summer. Summer thought it was a little humorous. Nonetheless, I'm sure she felt a bit out-of-place, too.
Astronomy was fun, like always! Each Friday is called "Star Friday." We learn about the stars and constellations and maybe watch a YouTube video on our universe or galaxy (narrated by the one and only - Morgan Freeman).
My reading class was not bad. One of the instructors introduced me to a soon-to-be book club. They said the club would consist of a group of people and we would pick a certain book to read and then discuss about. The idea sounded nice, until I heard about the time schedule... I already come home late as if I have a job. I'm at school from 9:30 to 3:30 and I get home close to 4. Those classes would be starting around 4... I am not staying at school for another several hours just to read a book with strangers... Besides, I'm more of a lone wolf anyway. I think I'm going to pass.
The whole day was blustery and wet. Right now we're having a windstorm... I heard on the news that it was supposedly going to thunder and lightning tonight.
BRING IT ON, MOTHER NATURE!!!
...
Not too harshly though. Enough to where you get your anger out but... nothing harmful...
The parents and I just came home from the grandparent's house. We were watching the Sci channel. I believe that channel used to be called Sci-Fi? Then they changed the name a few times and now it's just Sci... Hmm... Anyway!! We were checking out the show Through The Wormhole or... something like that. I've ALWAYS wanted to watch that show! But I never found out what channel it was playing on!! And since I'm in Astronomy now, grandpa J and I were going on and on about the galaxy and the universe and our solar system and other life on different galaxies... We were in DEPTH of the subject!! Grandma went downstairs and brought us a 1980 Nat Geo book talking about the solar system and the universe, etc. She let me take it home. That book is neat! A little corny because it's from the '80s, but I'll manage.
If I could pick two majors when I head to a university, I'll definitely add Astronomy next to my English degree. Good couple?
