I went to my SECOND concert in my whole life and it was AMAZING!!! Steampunk is super cool. I thought, based on how everybody dressed in their vintage attire, that Scott, Nguyen and I were going to experience something bizarre.
Don't get me wrong! Steampunk is different! But that's the great thing about it... It's UNIQUE!!!! It's INSPIRING!!! It's AWESOME!!!
Scott knew of these two bands that were playing at an Everett theater. I was expecting a stand-up concert. I was happy to be reassured.
The first band was called Abney Park. Their Steampunk music makes you feel like you're on an epic adventure!!! Or, you're hearing the tale of an epic adventure! Their Steampunk was kind of a Garage-Rock with Electronic and some Funk. I was shocked at how brilliant they were.
The second band was called Steam Powered Giraffe. They were mellow, yet SO CRAZY GOOD!!!! The trio were "robots" built in different time periods that were brought together as that band to "entertain us humans." Not only did they sing similar to the Beach Boys, but their Steampunk style was also similar to the Beach Boys. However, that's my opinion! I love them!!! They're so hilarious, too! They perform their songs, then they'll act a little bit, perform another song - I was astounded. Nguyen likes the bands, also. I'm looking them up on iTunes!!!
Before I go, here's a picture of the band Abney Park. They were downstairs being mauled by fans; taking pictures, hugging them, etc. And I actually got the chance to take a photo of them!
