I'm speechless today. I'm sure you know why. I don't want to talk about my schooling, I want to discuss about the Boston Marathon bombing.
I couldn't watch the news for more than several minutes. I had to turn it off. My head was throbbing, I couldn't come to a conclusion of why someone would do such a thing - I was bewildered over this heart wrenching act.
My dad's runner friend, Gary was administrated to the Boston Marathon. His running times had qualified him to enter the event. Gary took the chance in a second. Gary and his wife are alright, thank Heavens. But it was a close call. Gary finished the marathon an hour before the bombs exploded. They said they were two blocks away, in one of those recovery tents, when suddenly, the first explosion erupted. Gary thought this was a celebratory thing; someone must have shot off fireworks. Until he heard the second explosion. That's when he realized something was wrong.
The graphic images and the shocking film were too disturbing. I felt like I was watching the next upcoming Summer thriller movie. Yet there were no actors, there wasn't a narrator... Only screams and terror amongst each persons face.
Dad had heard the North Korean dictator claiming, "there will be explosions soon." I don't remember if that's exactly what my dad said, regardless, I understood what he meant. What IF this action was a foreign terrorist attack from North Korea? Wouldn't we start war with them?
All I can do is wait. Every citizen in America, probably across the globe, is waiting for an answer. I'm glad Obama isn't pointing a finger right away. We need facts prior to doing so.
Please, God... Don't let Mason face the harsh reality of war on his shoulders... He doesn't deserve it. Nobody does.
